It was a little chilly, but nearly 100 guests and volunteers showed up to sample wine and help raise over $14,000 for charity. On November 18th, the Taylor Haugen Foundation hosted a wine tasting and live auction where nine wines were paired with light hors d’oeuvres at Alys Beach’s world famous Caliza Pool.

Kelly Pearson and Jonathan Clark from Bit-Wizards helped set up and serve wine while other members of the Bit-Wizards team contributed financially. Louis Erickson won auctions for a private yacht cruise and a weekend get-away while Kevin Grohoske won the auction for an autographed Mohammed Ali photograph. One of the many bottles of wine up for auction was won by Kelly Pearson, and Bryan Soltis won auctions for a Dinner party for 10 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill and the Big Green Egg Mini Grill. All total, the team from Bit-Wizards contributed nearly $4,000 in auction items.

The surprise auction item of the evening was an autographed guitar from the All American Rejects. Unfortunately, Bryan Soltis lost the bidding war on this item to Melissa Mowery, the Foundation’s executive director. Lead vocalist Tyson Ritter, who lives in Santa Rosa Beach, and guitarist Nick Wheeler from the band were on hand to present the guitar.
